Where Is Your Lighthouse?

It may seem strange to you that I would start out discussing health and not go straight for a topic like blood pressure, vegetarian diets or exercise. But, I start here because frankly, if you don’t know where you are going in life and what you really want to create, why bother with good health.

Where is the Power Play?

Recently, like many Australian Men and Women, I have lamented the performances of our cricket team. Cricket is such an incredible game. For a bowler, even the worst performance can be redeemed in the very next ball. For a Batsman, it can be a brutal and unforgiving sport.

My mind harkens back to Steve Waugh’s incredible 1995 series against the West Indies in the Caribbean. He left Australia with a major cloud over his head as the newspapers openly discussed his apparent weakness against short pitched bowling. He went on to make several 100’s and a 200, which included the famous mid-wicket stoush with Curtly Ambrose.

Tossing the Ball Around

It is August 19th, 2013, and I am very excited this morning. I am sitting in the lobby of a hotel in Hamilton in New Zealand. Last night, the All Blacks gave the Wallabies a bit of a spanking, but I am excited.

Did you see the game? Maybe Rugby Union is not your cup of tea, and that is ok. I can forgive you for that. But having been born and partly raised in Queensland, it is in my blood.

I feel like, for the first time in a very long time, the shackles have come off the Wallabies. They stopped being so dour in defence and started to throw the ball around. Their play was exciting, adventurous and they took chances.
